2014 in review

2014 was a very productive year. 

 

I managed to achieve all of my goals for 2014 and then some. This was the first full 12 month year of dividend growth investing since I started in the spring of 2013 and what a year it has been. So in this post I will talk a bit about the goals I had set myself and how they turned out.

What's in a name?

Alpha Target is the name of this blog. It is a statement and a reminder.

The 'Alpha' part refers to anything that represents high value. In finance, alpha also refers to a technical risk ratio that shows you the out/under-performance of a portfolio against a benchmark.

The 'Target' part refers to the fact that it is a goal, a goal that changes over time. This includes the re-evaluation of goals and the reminder to keep your focus whilst moving forward step by step.
